Our Story: Celebrating 30 Years of The Wine & Spirits Shop of Charleston

This April marks a special milestone for us—five incredible years since we took ownership of The Wine & Spirits Shop of Charleston! To celebrate, we invite you to join us for a special wine tasting on Wednesday, April 2, as we raise a glass to our journey and the amazing community that has supported us along the way.

Join us from 4:30 to 6:30 pm as we toast our anniversary with Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut and MyStory Wines.  We're thrilled to also be joined by "Brent Pace for Mayor", who will be performing live for us!  

The philosophy behind MyStory Wines Company is to invite people to start a  conversation. They believe in friendly discussions between friends, family, and neighbors, and the best way to start a conversation is to tell a story. As we celebrate 30 years, we thought we’d share Our Story.

Our story began in July 2019 when, while on vacation, we came across the opportunity to purchase The Wine Shop. We were instantly drawn to its rich history, extensive wine selection, and the legacy built by Debbie Marlow over the last 25 years. Inspired by the shop’s charm and potential, we made the decision to return “home” from Nashville and officially took ownership on April 1, 2020.

From the start, we focused on enhancing the shop, making improvements that would both honor its past and bring our personal touch to its future. We installed a wine tasting bar and added custom shelving in both the wine shop and the spirits shop.

In March 2024, we renovated the wine and spirits shops, remodeling and integrating them into one cohesive shop. This renovation enabled us to better enhance the customer experience and expand our wine and spirits selections. 

These changes have helped create an even more welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers—something we take great pride in.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our loyal customers and our dedicated staff. We are so grateful to have Zach Lamb and Meghan Ravenel on our team.  Over the past five years, we have had the privilege of meeting wonderful people, sharing stories, and building lasting friendships through our shops and wine tasting events. Wine has a unique way of bringing people together, and we are infinitely grateful to be part of so many special moments in your lives.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we reflect on the memories we’ve made and the friendships we’ve formed. It’s hard to believe how quickly five years have passed, but as they say, time flies when you’re having fun!
